M-Power Youth Enables Children

The root cause of crime is limited job opportunities, primarily due to a lack of

self-confidence and little education.

Studies show young people would not chose to engage in criminal behavior if

more opportunities were available to them.

Opportunities require the individual have an education in a needed skill.

To enable them four areas of improvement are necessary,

  • Self-confidence
  • Ability to get along with others in a group
  • Improved study habits
  • You are accountable for your actions

Music is a proven tool to attain this level of maturity.

So you will have more love, more compassion

More gentleness, more good

In short…more Life.

We all suffer from increasing crime in South King County. Help us help those in

jeopardy. Inturn, help you and your family live in a more safe community.

Please help us reach our Goal –15K. by December 15th.         DONATE NOW!

How We're Helping

M-Power Youth is a 501(c )3 accredited charity, that provides free weekly after-school music programs to academic or economically disadvantaged youth. These children are in elementary and junior high and are on a path to become self-confident productive citizens through participation in music.

We transform the lives of kids by providing high quality music instruction based on the successful program “El Sistema”.

Our three professional music instructors are complemented along with volunteer music tutors provide a welcoming and safe team based environment.

Through the discipline and dedication to learn one or more instruments and play in an orchestra before the public, students learn self-confidence, the skills required for academic success, and how to work with others in a collaborative environment.

A complement to the music segment is having professionals from a variety of careers present to the youth what their jobs entail and the education requirements. This, we hope, will inspire each student to focus on the education necessary to attain their career vision.
